[apprentice of the month, Baltic News, may]

We received some great nominations in May. A big thank you to all the apprentices and their employers for taking part.

Congratulations to Connor Alston from TPCS Ltd for his hard work and always going the extra mile. He will be receiving £50 in Love To Shop vouchers as well as some headphones from our friends over at Lindy Electronics. Well done! :)

"TPCS are a “one-stop shop” IT provider for clients ranging from one person start-up businesses to multi-site clients.

Since joining the team in July 2015 Connor has been, and continues to be an asset to our business and clients. He is enthusiastic, eager to learn and keen to tackle all tasks (even the washing up!). He has developed excellent relationships with our clients, many of whom have commented on what a “find” he is.

Connor has excelled on all his course modules, passing each one with distinction. His colleagues regularly comment on his ability to grasp new concepts and linked with his keen attention to detail, Connor has proven himself time and again to be able to run with projects independently, proving himself to be a very capable individual with a maturity that belies his age.

Connor has incredible interpersonal skills which are demonstrated best in a one on one situation with clients, this is matched by his very professional attitude.

He has recently been involved with two projects where new IT Systems have been rolled out, involving replacement hardware, data migration and transfer to hosted services.

Connor’s involvement in both cases started with his pre-install in our Lab environment of the replacement hardware. This progressed through to planning and organising the onsite roll-out with his colleagues and the client, culminating in well-organised, successful implementations.

He is always ready to put in that extra mile, volunteering to work out of hours in order to provide minimum disruption to our clients.

We’re not nominating Connor as apprentice of the month, in our opinion he deserves to be awarded apprentice of the year!" - Angela Pollard (Director of TPCS Ltd)

We would also like to say a big thank you to everybody else that was nominated. Please see below for snippets from the other nominations.

Tazmin Garbett from Capgemini - "Tazmin has really developed her communication and project management skills, and she manages all of this on top of her day job and the studies her apprenticeship involves, she is a real ambassador for apprenticeships."

Tom Shackleton from the Statement Agency - "Tom has been quick to adopt the many systems and tools that we use and is making great use of time to further his knowledge of all things digital. We are so pleased to have Tom on board and feel very confident that he has a very successful apprenticeship ahead of him."

Hamzah Adam from Nybble - "Through the help of Baltic training together with his determination, dedication and charming personality, he now supports his own customer base and is gaining competence in the field of I.T.  We are proud of his achievements. "
