You'll be joining a supportive team of experienced IT professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping apprentices succeed. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of infrastructure and security technologies while receiving guidance and mentoring to develop both your technical and professional skills. We're looking for someone who is proactive, has excellent communication skills, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to learn. Whether you're supporting users, configuring systems, or helping to strengthen cyber security, you'll approach every task with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for technology.

Alongside your role, you'll complete the Level 4 Infrastructure & Security Engineer Apprenticeship with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending dedicated 2-day training blocks every 4-6 weeks. These sessions, combined with practical experience in the workplace, will equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to become a successful Infrastructure & Security Engineer.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Infrastructure and Security Apprenticeship qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and cloud-based network infrastructure across multiple client environments.
• Monitor and manage over 60 client networks using cloud networking platforms, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and up to date.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network devices including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points and NAS devices.
• Apply and update firewall rules, IP addressing and network configurations to support business and security requirements.
• Carry out security and access checks, including managing Conditional Access policies and user authentication controls.
• Investigate and resolve networking and infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems where required.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

• Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills through hands-on experience and training.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to take initiative.
• Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English 

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

• £18,000-£22,000 per annum.
• Monday to Friday, can choose out of 3 shift patterns (8am-4pm, 8.:30am-4:30pm, 9am-5pm).
• 25 days annual leave excluding Bank Holidays

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 4 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. 

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
