Are you ready to kick-start a career in data while making a real difference to students’ lives? Do you enjoy working with numbers, spotting patterns, and turning information into insight? Join Minerva Learning Trust as a Data Apprentice and play a key role in improving student attendance, safeguarding, and school performance.
As a Data Apprentice, you’ll be embedded within a data-driven school environment, working closely with attendance, safeguarding, and senior leadership teams. With full training and support, you’ll develop practical data skills while contributing to meaningful outcomes for students across the academic year.
In this role, you will work towards your Data & Business Insights Level 3 apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Collect, cleanse, validate, and maintain large-scale student attendance data throughout the academic year
- Extract and manage data using MIS systems including SIMS (migrating to Arbor) and external platforms such as DfE systems, Satchel One, and Applicaa
- Monitor data quality, including missing registers, attendance codes, and anomalies, and follow up with staff where required
- Analyse attendance data using filters, averages, pivot tables, graphs, and conditional formatting to identify trends, risks, and patterns
- Produce regular reports comparing cohorts such as year groups, gender, and vulnerable student groups
- Share insights and reports with key stakeholders, including Attendance Officers, Data Manager, Senior Leadership Team, Trust Attendance Lead, and the DfE
- Contribute to school performance reporting, including OFSTED, Trust, and DfE requirements
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £22,569 – £22,927 per annum
- Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:00
- Friday – 08:00 – 15:30
- Term time only

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- High level of accuracy and detail
- Ability to work in a team
- Basic Excel knowledge
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines
- Grade 4/C in Maths and English GCSE
