Baltic Apprenticeships are excited to be recruiting an IT Apprentice for The Bishops Blue Coat High School who are looking for a passionate individual to join their team. Within this role, you will be involved in a whole host of IT tasks and duties to mould you into an IT professional. With the view to go into full-time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship as well, this is not an opportunity that will be around for long!

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• As part of the ICT and Resources team to provide a full and prompt helpdesk service
• To provide assistance to the Resources Manager as required.
• To provide assistance to staff and students with the use of IT facilities and applications during lessons advising learners and supervising them in a safe and effective manner.
• To deliver and set up IT equipment for lessons, including projection equipment and Chromebook trolleys
• To assist in filming and editing of video content and providing IT support to school events
• Deployment of PCs and applications using the SCCM platform. Creation of application packages (using Applocker) will be required from time to time.
• Installing network (edge) switches – setup/configuration of a switch for a defined area of the school (not the central core switches).
• To carry out other IT related tasks as directed by the Data & Systems Manager.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

• £14,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday 08:30am – 16:30pm
• Term time holidays
• Potential employment upon completion of apprenticeship

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

• Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role
• Confident person
• Good time keeper
• Keen to progress in a career in IT
• Willingness to learn
