Meridian Trust, a leading educational trust managing a network of academies, is looking for a motivated Software Development Apprentice to join our team. As a Software Development Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to innovative tech solutions that enhance the educational experience across our academies.
During your journey, you'll work towards your Junior Software Developer qualification delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. We're committed to your growth and success.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- To support the Development team in improving and maintaining the trusts IT systems.
- Developing, deploying and testing websites, web applications and automation tools
- Work with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP and Power Apps
- Primarily use Monday.com and GitHub, along with various Microsoft products.
- Identifying and resolving relevant issues such as functional errors, syntax errors, logical errors, calculation errors, unit-level bugs, and system-level bugs.
- Learn new data skills and techniques through on-the-job training and online courses
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
- Grade 6 in Maths and 4 in English is essential for this role
- A desire to continue academic education
- Knowledge of coding languages
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Act on own initiative
- Willingness to learn
