I started to work for Baltic after completing a degree in Applied Business Computing.
My previous education consisted of going to college to study a level 3 in IT and deciding to complete the Foundation Degree in Business Computing on completion. From there, I decided to complete the final year at a local university. . During my degree, I covered a number of relevant units such as Project Management, User Experience Design and Multimedia.
While completing my studies, I worked part time for 5 years in Premier Inn as a housekeeper.
While working for Baltic, I have completed two qualifications which are TAQA and E&T. Gaining these qualifications has helped me massively within in my role.
I started at Baltic in September 2016 as a Junior Assessor, progressed to an Assessor in September 2017 and I am now a Senior Assessor from June 2019.
My role involves speaking to my caseload of learners every 6 weeks to ensure they are progressing with their apprenticeship and provide them with support.
The most enjoyable part of my role is speaking to learners who are in a vast range of industries and getting to know what they have been up to. I also enjoy seeing how much the learners have developed throughout the time on their apprenticeship.
My favorite memory while working at Baltic is how friendly and supportive everyone was on my first day!
My role has changed massively since working at Baltic. When I first started, I had a small caseload of learners and I was also responsible for delivering inductions and also workshops. From there, I was promoted to an Assessor and now a Senior Assessor where I saw my caseload increase. For both roles, the main focus is to provide support and ensure my learners are progressing with their apprenticeship.
