Before I worked for Baltic, I had been a teacher for over 20 years. The school I taught at was closing down and I decided to do something different.
I enjoy studying. I studied A-levels and went on to University to study computer science and then gained my PGCE (QTS). I am also a trained special needs teacher and co-ordinator.
My previous roles have included being an external verifier for Pearson, school teacher and assessor.
I have a degree in Computer science which then lead to a Postgraduate certificate in Computer based information systems. I then studied to be a teacher. I soon became head of year and then deputy head. I then studied for a postgraduate certificate in leadership and management in education, which enabled me to become a more effective leader. I was interested in how ICT would help my students in how they learnt and retained information. I then was awarded a postgraduate diploma in teaching and learning using ICT. My love affair with education lead me to study for my SENCO award which I was awarded last year.
I have worked for Baltic since August 2017.
I am a software development trainer. I am responsible for educating and adding value added too all the apprentices I am privileged to teach.
My favourite memory was when an apprentice who struggled with a particular unit passed their exam due to the time spent with them. It is very satisfying when you see apprentices achieve.
My role hasn't changed since starting for Baltic.
I don't like flying and only do short flights. My dream destination is New York in the winter.
I trained as a football referee but don't do much anymore.
My children are my greatest achievement. I was lucky enough to teach both of my children and believe I have significantly contributed to the wonderful young people they are today. My daughter has dyslexia and I have supported her over the years. Not an easy task but she now has a place on her first choice university course.
I enjoy playing netball and I help coach up and coming netball players.
