Barbara Robson - Consultant Assessor

[Trainers and Assessors]

I started working at Baltic after being made redundant unexpectedly. Although this was a very difficult and emotional time I managed to secure my new role at Baltic the third working day after redundancy.

I have worked in education for about 7 years and began training and assessing whilst working in the NHS. I left the NHS to focus on training/assessing and graduated with my Cert Ed in 2014, I then went on to achieve QTLS status. Most recently I have achieved my TAQA L4 (IQA) qualification.

I am currently working towards a L6 in Leadership and Management.

My working background aside from training and education includes 12 years NHS service in a range of senior administrative roles such as PA, Project Officer, Team Administrator etc. After the NHS I joined the private training sector; I have supported a number of learners achieve qualifications and progress in their career. These include Business Administration L3, Business Administration L4, Customer Service L2, Customer Service L3, Contact Centre Operations L2, Contact Centre Operations L3, Retail L2, Healthcare Support Services, TL, Management L3, Management L4, Learning and Development L3 and Employability.

Working at Baltic

I started working for Baltic on 22/10/18. I joined the Team as a Consultant Assessor.

I am enjoying the role and know I can continue to teach, advise and guide my learners to reach their full potential! I am loving having a desk for the first time in many years!

I have taken on a major client, which has been challenging to adapt to the systems and processes, however I now feel good working relationships have been established and I can now see the learner’s progress!

I had an advisory observation and achieved 90%.

#1 Item on Bucket List

To see the Northern Lights – hopefully 2019!

Interesting Fact

I worked as a Special Constable for 4 years for Cleveland Police – and it is exactly like the TV shows!

Greatest Achievement

My greatest achievement was passing my driving test, attempt 6! But I have now driven all over the country including crazy city centers like Nottingham, Newcastle and Leeds! This shows my learners perseverance is a key factor to ensure you achieve the end goal!

Hobbies and Interests

My hobbies include going to the gym (pool!), travelling and visiting new places, shopping both online and off!
