[Apprentices]

In order to take full advantage of your time as an apprentice, you should see it for what it is: a unique learning experience. So grab every opportunity along the way and most importantly, make sure you enjoy yourself!

Learn from your colleagues

As you find your feet in your new workplace, your mentor and teammates will all be there to support you. Don’t be afraid to ask them for help if you need it; they were all new once too and should be happy to pass their wisdom on to you. Ask questions wherever you can, using any and every opportunity to learn from your co-workers.

Step out of your comfort zone

An apprenticeship is the perfect time to explore as many aspects of your chosen profession as you can. Don’t let fear of failure hold you back: if there is ever a time to make mistakes and learn from them, it’s now! Speak with your manager after your training weeks to identify opportunities to put your skills into practice. The more proactive you are about your learning, the more confident you’ll become in your abilities.

Network with other apprentices

As well as building your technical knowledge, your training weeks are also an opportunity to learn from the experiences of other apprentices. Making connections with your peers will allow you to share best practice and access a support network of apprentices from across the country. After your training week, you can keep in touch using the Baltic Alumni Facebook group.

Boost your skills

To get ahead of the game, you can expand your knowledge by learning coding languages or working on projects that interest you outside of work. Build your IT support, digital marketing and software development skills by using online resources.
