Congratulations to Joshua Hadabora from Handsam Ltd for being named May's Apprentice of the Month! He will be receiving £50 in high street vouchers.
"Josh has been a superb apprentice for us, arriving with us straight from school and is now on his second apprenticeship via Baltic. His appreciation of the needs of the client are the most important thing he brings to the table, but then add in his skill in developing our bespoke software to meet those needs, understanding of the need to meet deadline sand how he gets on well and professionally with the rest of the team, and you have an apprentice who has frown massively in terms of both knowledge and how to apply it through his two courses.
Josh has recently developed an entirely new module of the system to deliver online training courses, based on a pre-existing version which had a range of issues he has now fixed. He has also added in user friendly dashboards and a system of email reminders, even allowing clients to bespoke the test in those reminder. Amidst all that he has shown the ability to change focus and deal with quick fixes along the way. This all makes him an ideal person to be Apprentice of the Month."
We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone that nominated, please see below!
CONNON BURBAGE FROM COMPUTACENTER
I would like to nominate Connon Burbage who is currently working with Computacenter on the First Line desk for Computacenter on First Group and XPO contracts.
I was privileged to have been part of the initial interview/selection stages back in September 2018 following Connon through the Apprenticeship journey working on the above contracts as his Team Leader. From the interviewing stage Connon has taken the lead working as part of a team and team work is his top priority and to encourage others.
Connon has given full commitment and drive to the apprenticeship programme and is always one step ahead, putting 200% into his apprenticeship work. He ensures he is always prompt for his allocated shifts and for the past three months has no scheduled adherence failures or sickness.
He is a well-respected member of the team and will always without any question assist others as and when help is required. Connon volunteers to do extra hours and will always be the first to cover for sickness absence, which shows he is a great team player.
Connon has been assisting me with End to End Incident management on the accounts, driving down aged tickets and distributing amongst the team to encourage others to make this a joint effort. The results have been recognised by Computacenter Service Management. I have no doubt that Connon will continue and complete the programme with excellent examination results.
JACK MAKIN FROM CLEVER IT
Jack often goes above and beyond for Clever IT and our customers. He shows his learned skills daily and has taken on projects with our clients and then seen them through to successful conclusion. I have no hesitation in putting Jack onto any project or issue with our top clients. Jack has an excellent manner and is able to set expectations with our clients and communicate effectively to ensure that any problems are resolved swiftly.
It is a huge credit to Jack that he is such an integral part of our team. I get positive feedback from our clients regularly who all think he’s a fantastic lad, with a good level of knowledge and a determination to solve their problems as soon as he can.
Jack is able to use all resources within our business to help our clients from remote support tools, researching via our knowledge base and using his own initiative to search on the internet.
Jack’s progress through his apprenticeship has been effortless and in that I’d like to congratulate Paige for her management of him and his apprenticeship as well, making the whole experience a pleasure.
Jack is a dedicated individual and is already looking forwards to his next apprenticeship course with Baltic.
KYLIE HARRISON FROM PROTAN UK LTD
Kylie is an outstanding apprentice whose unique style and enthusiasm makes working with her enjoyable, engaging and fun. Her energy and commitment make her a role model for hard work and self-motivation. She’s focused on ensuring tasks are delivered on-time in the best possible way and gives Protan UK 100% commitment.
She approaches tasks and projects in a leadership style based on collaboration, trust, flexibility and humour. No matter how busy she is, she’ll always take time to support anyone who needs help and complete objectives. Kylie has several key tasks at Protan UK, which include: Managing stock of promotional items and keeping within budget on re-ordering; Managing marketing events such as RCi and Total Contractor.
Kylie is responsible for producing social media content and increasing Protan UK’s followers on: Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook. Since she has undertaken this responsibility we have seen our followers increase exponentially. Kylie has produced two key documents for Protan UK: 1) UK Price List. This required Kylie to undertake specialist software training and liaise with marketing with Protan AS in Norway, and 2) UK Case study brochure.
This required Kylie to coordinate construction projects, comments and pictures from across departments and compile them into an easy-to-read document that will be issued to internal and external stakeholders. Both documents have received positive comments.
SAM GRAHAM FROM COMPUTACENTER UK
I would like to nominate Sam Graham for Apprentice of the Month. Since starting his apprenticeship it has been fantastic to see how both his confidence and knowledge has continued to grow. I think initially he had some difficulties adjusting to his new surroundings and balancing the demands of the Baltic knowledge program and the day to day requirements of our department.
I am encouraged however at the way Sam has taken on board the advice offered to him from both our supportive team and Baltic. This has resulted in us today having a very proactive young man who has a rapidly expanding knowledge of our business from both a technical and business prospective.
During the past month we have set Sam the challenge of learning about our interactive robot, Pepper. Sam has done a great job in researching, learning and getting the robot to respond and interact with him. Sam has also been keen to showcase his work with Pepper and has taken the opportunity to introduce Pepper to many of our visiting customers.
Sam has also been very supportive in what has been a very busy month for our team as we needed to support our wider business team in delivering our mobile technology exhibition stand to various locations across Europe. Sam’s role in this has been to ensure both the stand and technology was set up and tested prior to shipping and then help with the decommissioning on its return.
In summary Sam has had a really strong and positive month and I hope these words help support his nomination.
Since joining the Internal IT team at Partnerize in October last year Jeevan has firmly established himself as a dependable, well respected member of the department.
He has taken an independent, reliable approach to all the tasks he has been assigned including:
As well as Jeevan’s day-to-day work, he has also made time for his studies. In his spare time, including his own lunch break on occasion, Jeevan can usually be found at his desk working though practice exams or going through notes he has taken during a training session.
Jeevan has demonstrated a level of maturity and good humour well beyond his years and as a result is very highly thought of by everyone at Partnerize.
We firmly believe that for all the reasons above Jeevan deserves recognition as Apprentice of the Month.
