If you've had a conversation with a casual acquaintance recently, you'll notice that eventually you'll be asked a specific question. It goes something along the lines of: "so... how are you keeping yourself busy in lockdown?"
You might not know it, but the answer given immediately sorts you into one of two categories: 1) people with time on their hands, and 2) parents.
For a lot of parents, especially working parents, keeping busy is not an issue. In fact, the opposite might be more applicable. As work and home lives merge, things can get messy in more ways than one.
After chatting with our friends, colleagues and customers, we're finding that many of us are in the same strange boat. Talking about our experiences can be helpful, especially when it comes to dealing with circumstances that as a society we've never had to deal with before.
In that spirit, we asked one of our Business Development Managers, Jess Cheney, to share her experiences of balancing her working life with being in lockdown with a toddler. In this interview, Jess chats about her reality of working from home; including why it's not all crafts and baking, and how to set up the ideal office environment... in a parked car.
