[employers, Apprenticeships]

Technology is constantly evolving, so it makes sense that our programmes should too. To stay ahead of the curve and keep our training relevant, we’re making some changes to our IT apprenticeships.

Microsoft have recently announced that they are retiring the Cloud Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exam. As this is currently a module included in our IT programme, we’ve reviewed our offering to replace this course with another one that will provide added value to apprentices and their roles.

To maintain the current levels of service and quality, we’re replacing the Cloud MTA with the Windows Server MTA. This fulfils all of the pre-requisites of the apprenticeship, while still providing apprentices with an internationally renowned vendor exam.

The aim of this course is to introduce the concepts and technologies of Windows Server administration. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows-based networking, Active Directory, account management, and system recovery tools.

These concepts are included in the course to prepare for the associated MTA exam:

  • Understanding Server Installation
  • Understanding Server Roles
  • Understanding Active Directory
  • Understanding Storage
  • Understanding Server Performance Management
  • Understanding Server Maintenance

The new course will consist of 4 days of SMART Classroom training and an exam. All scheduled courses dates will remain the same, but the Windows Server course and exam will be delivered in place of the retired Cloud MTA.
