We had some great nominations this month. Congratulations to Ellis Ingham from Bellingham IT for his work on a major project and his progression on his Apprenticeship. £50 in Love to Shop vouchers are on the way.
"Ellis has progressed more than I could have imagined since joining Bellingham IT in October last year and has made himself an invaluable member of the team. His enthusiasm and passion to continue learning is an example to one and all, this is highlighted by the fact that he has won ‘Learner of the Week’ for the last 2 training courses he has been on. This enthusiasm is also transferred in to his work, especially in the area of customer service, and as we all know, this is one of the most important drivers in our industry.
Ellis has worked on one main project within the business that is already adding value, this was the implementation of new IT Management software. This involved the comparison of the different applications available in the market place with a recommendation and reasons why this product was chosen. With this product now selected on his recommendation, he is now working on the project to implement it in to the business.
His time keeping and attendance are perfect and on occasions has remained after work to ensure that the job is done. He has also built a good rapport with the customers that he has had dealings with.
Ellis is a shining example to all apprentices and young people out there."
- Paul Heigham (Director of Bellingham IT)
We would also like to say a huge thank you and well done to all the apprentices that were nominated. We've included some snippets from the nominations below.
William from Quad Computer Services Ltd -"He is increasingly showing his ability and is exceeding expectations whilst doing his apprenticeship. He is actively participating in support tasks and the installation of systems. He is reliable and efficient, I think this award would give him some recognition for the work and effort that he is undertaking on a daily basis."
Sky from DISC - "Over the past 4 months, there has been a number of changes in the IT provision at DISC. Sky has not only handled these changes exceptionally well but exceeded all expectations. Sky is able and willing to take on very challenging pieces of work and appears to thrive with a challenge, including the use of new technologies and solutions."
Alistair from NVG - "Alistair has jumped into the team and worked really hard while we have lost 2 other members of staff. He has great customer service skills and has been taking phone calls and dealing with emails independently after only 2 months on the job. We are really happy with his progress."
Ian from Rossington All Saints Academy - "Ian has progressed well since the beginning of his apprenticeship and at such an early stage I'm impressed with how he works independently the vast majority of the time but asks for help when he needs it. This was his first training week and his usual working hours are 8-4. The training runs 9-5 but he has continued to come in at 8am each day without being asked and do some work before his training starts."
Dylan from HMP Thameside Serco - "Dylan is an experienced member of staff at Thameside and is always professional in his role. Dylan finished Baltic Training recently and managed to complete the course whilst not feeling well. Dylan also managed to provide support to the IT department during his breaks to make sure everything was going well. He showed dedication to his role and commitment to training despite not feeling well."
Gary from HMP Thameside Serco - "As a senior member of the IT team at Thameside Gary’s knowledge of the site is valuable. Gary has been challenged recently with Internet web filter issues which he investigated and solved impressing a senior Serco IT manager. Gary has recently completed Baltic Training and like his colleague Dylan, offered help in his breaks and checked everything was going well."
Jordan from HMP Thameside Serco - "Jordan has been limited to the support he can provide to users because of Security clearance required. Due to his limited IT access, Jordan has been given other tasks which are important but tedious. Jordan was asked to check and tested more than 100 thin clients to make sure they were operationally fit for redeployment, Jordan did this thoroughly and without complaint."
Martin from HMP Thameside Serco - "This month Martin has introduced approval forms for staff to complete when requesting access to systems/resources and a willingness to help users. Martin is not afraid to pick up the phone, reply to IT service desk emails or attend users work locations to assist users. Martin has settled into his IT role really well and is making good progress in his work placement."
Michael from North Tyneside Council - "Fitting in and working like he has been an employee for years, he has his maps of the buildings and just picks up service requests and failures like there was no tomorrow. He is dealing with customers and staff in a great way. We couldn’t be happier with Michael, he is a credit to our team."
Ashleigh from Specialist Computer Centre - "From day one he has embraced his role responsibilities. We show Ashleigh how to accomplish repairs to broken IT equipment , he masters techniques and he gets on with it and can be relied upon to repair our customer's equipment to high standards."
Will from Servatech Ltd - "Will is doing so well, he has learned so much in the short time he has been with us. He’s a pleasant, hardworking member of our team now and has fit in well."
